This series of large easy drawings began as a response to the exhibition Fresh Wood, 2007, at Guido Costa Projects. Each drawing is large enough (2.5 x 1.75 meters) to fully blanket the viewer and to match the weight of encountering another individual. They are called “easy” because they come naturally.

These drawings are theatrical, sometimes extremely highly rendered, and present situations without easy solutions. This work is less idealistic than other works of mine, more allegorical and possibly elitist. I am interested in its theatricality as a confession of my critical distance and as an acknowledgment of the limits of  idealism. I am interested in the luxuriousness of the images. I would like to develop a strong, reflexive, criticality from within a place of luxury and relaxation.
