Life Clings Closest Where Most Hated is a performance and exhibition based on the original text of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. The original text has been collaged with new material to tell the story of a second “woman who wrote a story about a monster”. The monologue tries to understand why someone might want do a thing like that. Why would someone want to write a horrible story about a horrible monster?
The performance was commissioned by the American Academy in Rome for the exhibition “The Academic Body” curated by Peter Benson Miller.
